+1 and it is free.

Minor restrictions on number of posts and crossposting.
uk.legal found itself on the banned list for a while.

I still have a $5 registration then free forever account on Teranews but
it no longer works (and was erratic from time to time even when it did).

when I see any it's usually when some numpty has replied to a spammer
and quoted everything.

As for usenet, I use a valid e-mail address but don't use it for
anything else. Spam filter deals with most garbage.

Twitter now allows 280 characters and up to 4 images can be attached.
