I use https://www.aioe.org/. The owner of the previous one I used died,
and over a few months it became less and less stable. I found this one
and it seems to work fine for my needs.

+1 and it is free.

Minor restrictions on number of posts and crossposting.
uk.legal found itself on the banned list for a while.

I still have a $5 registration then free forever account on Teranews but
it no longer works (and was erratic from time to time even when it did).

Not free but €10 per year shouldn't break the bank. Blocks most spam;
when I see any it's usually when some numpty has replied to a spammer
and quoted everything.

I'll second that one. Works a treat. Used it for some time now after it
was recommended on here.

Using this free one here
eternal-september.org
is fine for me.
Usenet- the proper "social media" without the acres of commercial utter
crap, as long as you use an invalid email address cf Fleecebook.
As for ****ter, it reminds me of when I first went on this new-fangled
internet thing with a 300 baud dial-up modem, 140 characters, unbelievable!.

140 characters? Just a little out of touch aren't we? ;-)

As for usenet, I use a valid e-mail address but don't use it for
anything else. Spam filter deals with most garbage.
