[wr] Swanston snow 3rd April
This 'winter' seems to have gone on and on up here. Looking at my
records the cold sequence began in mid-January and any any brief milder spells have been unable to establish themselves. Yesterday's snow became persistent and heavier after dark with temperatures steady at 0.4C. When I eventually turned in around 11pm it was still snowing healthily and looked to be in the order of 6 cm depth. In the early hours the temperature rose to 1.5C with just light snow. By 0900 a full cover remained although the depth had declined to 3 cm. Weather in sulking mode now, best Scottish monochrome. -- George in Swanston, Edinburgh, 575'asl www.swanstonweather.co.uk |
