We had almost as much snow again overnight but still under 20cm total - hard to tell this time since there is drifting. It isn't as pretty with snow no longer sticking to the trees. Yesterday it was still so the snow was a uniform layer. Today the low spots are all full of snow. Snow plough has been through the village but he wasn't ploughing just going to pick up a snow plough operator. Local roads are now impassable to ordinary cars in the dips which have filled with deep snow drifts. 4WD high ground clearance is OK with care. -4C overnight and presently -3.5C with sunshine and pale grey skies. North Yorkshire made it onto the news last night as very wintery. It struck me as madness for them to go up Sutton Bank in these conditions. -- Regards, Martin Brown |
