Just because somebody lives in England, it doesn’t make them English. A
person as to be born in England, and more importantly have English
ancestors.

Mr Eggington thinks that all you need to be English is to have English
ancestors. But English in this sense is a bit vague. Most, in fact I
would say all, 'English' people have non English ancestors, so by his
definition he isn't English.
