It seems like months since we've had a start to a day like this. Blue
skies, crisp fresh air, 5C - wonderful. I doubt it will last but must get out and enjoy it. Dave,S.Essex |

Last night's rain and snow liked it so much here that it turned round and came back from the east. 60mm in the last 3 days. -- George in Swanston, Edinburgh, 580'asl www.swanstonweather.co.uk www.eppingweather.co.uk www.winter1947.co.uk |

Come back inside now and I've shut all the windows, whacked up the heating to full blast, started a log fire but I'll have to chop up some more furniture as I'm out of logs. Will de-condense the car later and drive very carefully 900 feet down to the shops to stock up with supplies as my postcode forecast says it is going to get even more bitter and the power may go off. Well down 'ere it was the first 'unpleasant' day this winter with a biting wind and that nasty cold rain almost horizontal and hitting you in the side of the face - yuk. It wasn't much fun doing some sampling early afternoon. For once I glad to get back to the office. Still, the sun did manage to shine for a couple of hours earlier on but with that wind and rain, it didn't cheer much. A maximum of 7.5C made it the coldest day since the 12th of February (6.9C). Sunshine running around average with 39 hours to date. 59 mm of rain so far (above average) and everywhere is very boggy. -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

Overcast with heavy sleet showers and a more heavy sleet this evening. 10.1 mm so far today and we've had well over a months rainfall in just 12 days. Hoping to get a few nice sunny days once the colder arrives Dave ![]() Current temp 2.1c Graham (Weston Coyney) |
