Met Office Weather-fact #7
 

This states that the top temperature for Christmas Day last year was
7C. I thought this was a bit low and I've just seen a Matt Hugo tweet
with the following maximum temperature chart for that day:

The maximum temperatures that I can see on that range as high as 11C.
Something seems to be amiss.

Certainly is something amiss. It reached 11.0C in Penzance in mild WSW winds & sunny spells. The MINIMUM was 7.9C!

I think the Met Office's max is barmy whereas yours is balmy. ;-)

No mine was barmy in the context as written.
But I agree with you, some of these UKMO factsheets are also barmy.

Xmas Day 2012:
Min = 6.8C
Max = 11.6C

Sunny intervals all day giving a total of 5.0 hours of sunshine.

If I remember right, we had a lovely stroll along the beach and it felt
warm in the sunshine as there was little, if any wind. Surf was good for
Sidmouth with plenty of surfers making the most of it.
