Met Office gives the highest daily minimum temperature as

23.9°C 3 August 1990 Brighton (East Sussex) [Time of day not specified.]

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/extremes/

Current temperature at Pitsford (11.15pm) is 23.6C.

My back garden 25.8C.

If I can remember I'll post those last 2 again at midnight.

24.7C here at midnight Jim. Other local stations all repoting around 25C.
If the oficial highest minimum is 23.6C this probably won't make it as
that was probably recorded just after sunrise so about 5.30am at the
moment. Mild night in anyone's book.

Midnight temperatures:

Pitsford 22.4C.

It would help if the Met Office updated their site more punctually.

Similar rise in temperature between 23.00 and 00.00 local time in Brussels http://www.kmi.be/meteo/view/nl/1586615-Webcams.html
Seems to have been linked to an increase in the wind speed.
