Temp 17.7°C, wind NNE, humidity 85%

Doesn't bother me, but for the many who have spent all week working and commuting into London, I guess they must feel cheated.

Then the heat returns Monday.

The gardens are desperate for rain, especially lawns, looks like they may get some rain next week.

I don't know what to think Keith, the lack of a relentless sun beating down through my bedroom window prevented me sizzling like a kebab on the top of my bed thus giving me a comfortable lie in without having to draw the curtains and thus stifle any welcomed breeze, so that was good. However now I'm up the glorious brightness of the morning is missing and life seems a tad duller with my enthusiasm to undertake a list of gardening jobs on the wane.

Anyway: Yes showers possibly next week but that same forecast was made for the same time last week IIRC .

Can't complain though almost one month on from the solstice and we're hurtling our way back to autumn.

I can never understand why so many people scalps their lawns in the
summer and expect them to remain green. I always raise the cut on my
mower, to give the grass a chance to get energy through photosynthesis.

I can never understand why so many people scalps their lawns in the

summer and expect them to remain green. I always raise the cut on my

mower, to give the grass a chance to get energy through photosynthesis.

Unfortunately I've scalped mine in parts imho the key to a good cut is an even surface. When it was really wet and sodden I kept meaning to purchase a heavy roller never did though.
