Haytor - new max. temperature record 13/7/13
After a week of hot sunshine and dry ground, but grass still green, the
temperature in my Met Office standard Stevenson screen (UPVC with black slats inside) reached +29.8C. A new record since moving here in April 2002. This beats the old record of +29.0C on 10th August 2003 at the same precise location. AWS max. was +29.2C at 1600 local. Wind has been F1-2, so well ventilated. Dewpoint oscillating 15-18C. Inside the temperature has been up to +23C, also the highest indoor temperature this year in my house. I am now thinking that the 32C we got in mid-Devon today may not have been too far of the mark if Will got nearly 30C at 1000 feet AMSL...
