Default Warming up ?

As Wills changeover day looms ever nearer,I noticed in the Torygraph this
morning that was not one weather station in the European section of daily
reports recorded a maximum of below zero, and that included Moscow !.
That would not be unusual in the winters of the 1990s and until 2008,but in
this potential record breaking year ? ?.
Strikes me that we are in for a anticyclonic, frosty spell rather than a
bitter Easterly,but I hope I'm wrong..!

It does feel a lot warmer today - currently 12.1C here in Wanstead,
though not particularly pleasant out - it was days like this that
defined many of the dreadful winters of the 1990s in the south-east.
As for the 20th I hope that the only bitter adjective being used on
here is for cold and not disappointment...

It's absolutely lovely outside today.

Sure, it's raining on and off, and it's a bit gloomy, but I could have
done my lunchtime training ride in a T-shirt, soft shell waterproof and
shorts.

So much nicer than having to bundle up in layer on layer, and have to
ride the bike with the ice tyres.

Bottom posted out of kindness.

The Usenet Etiquette referred to dates back a long way, and contains
practices that have been overtaken by technology.

For example - people like to access Usenet on mobile devices. Having to
wade through history to get to a response is a royal pain on a tiny
screen, and top posting makes much more sense.

That's all I have to say on the matter - I have much better things to do
with my time.

If people would snip as they should, to only leave material relevant to
the point(s) they are replying to, then that wouldn't really be a
problem. Failure to snip, so that one has to wade through screenfuls of
quoted material, is really annoying I agree, and much worse than top
posting. Incidentally "bottom posting" is really a misnomer.
Interspersed posting, so that each point being made follows that bit of
the quoted material that's being responded to, is the ideal.

My own favourite guide is this:
