Last night's min was -9.3°C, a record for December for this place
(1983). The shape of the thermograph trace is an inverted spike just before 0600 today. The temperature fell from -5° to the minimum and then immediately rose rapidly (less than an hour) back to -5°C. It must have been a rather brief clear slot - there is heavy frost on the trees. Snow depth 30 cm but no serious drifting. Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, NE Surrey 556ft. 169 m. |
