How could weather reporter Todd Gross post the time and date
next to every audio recording? It's computer technology. It's the kind of thing computers are supposed to make possible!... Todd Gross New England Weather http://weatherman.com/toddgross/TGaudionote.html toddwx at yahoo.com ToddGross.com Your Winter weather resource center Accuracy Has a New Home Several people have inquired about marking the date and time that the audio file was created here in the blog post. While this is a valid request and one that we have tried to work out several times in the past, it remains technically and logistically an impossibility. The reason: The audio files are not in any way connected to the website or its management. They are a standalone system that is "plugged" into the blog independent of any blog editing or access, often recorded when Todd is away from any web access where he could edit-in a visual timestamp. Additionally, the blog does not support the scripting which would allow programmatic publication of create-date:times to the posts for such as the audio files, even if they were accessible within the blog. We hope that you can appreciate this limitation and still find the text and graphical content to be useful and 'fairly fresh'! http://weatherman.com/toddgross/TGaudionote.html Or at least verbally include the current time and date. |
