Prob off topic for this group but if anyone can suggest a group /
source of info or code for Mac OSX and the polling and decoding of grib
files for use ultimately on a yachtie website I'd be grateful.

Have a look at David Taylor's software on:

I believe he has some GRIB file converters, but don't know if they would
apply to MAC systems.

The is Perl module for this, which I assume is OS independent.

I've used weather software on a Mac. It's called GPSNavX and there's a
free trial. It's primarily a navigation tool but it will decode GRIBs
and overlay on a chart. Tried and tested on my Atlantic crossing.
There's also a good forum on their website.
