Long dry spell set to end next weekend
================================================== ================== This posting expresses the personal view and opinions of the author. Something which everyone on this planet should be able to do. ================================================== ================== You heard it here first folks ! At long last the upper patterns are shifting and it looks like that next weekend will see the beginning of the end of this fine spell. By then the block will be breaking down as the Atlantic flow breaks through to the south and at the same time cool air swings down from the north on the eastern side of the high. This should see a baroclinic zone developing over southern Britain next weekend as the two airmasses meet. The ensembles would suggest a 60% confidence rating on this. What this means in terms of weather will be a breakdown from the SW with heavy prolonged rain and probably embedded thunderstorms. Flooding will be a possibility too as rain runs off hard ground. So make the most of this weekend and next week because it looks like it won't last too much longer. Will. -- " Lo the Ark of the Covenant ! Quite right. Was out today for a few hours after lunch. Still very unpleasant weather. It seemed to be very humid today. Victor The dew point is around 17°C which is a high value. Not that unpleasant as it was quite cloudy which stopped the temperature rising above 27°C. It also leads to warm evenings which is rather pleasant Alan |

================================================== ================== This posting expresses the personal view and opinions of the author. Something which everyone on this planet should be able to do. ================================================== ================== Well I've just got back from a wonderful morning/afternoon in Salcombe. The walks were gorgeous and the sea was lovely and warm and everybody was happy and smiling on the beach soaking up the sun. It was also nice to sit in the cafe sipping lager afterwards just like on the continent. It doesn't get much better than this in the UK ! Anyway, bring on the rain if it has to come, a lot of folk certainly need it in the southeast. I just hope you don't get too much grin. Happy holiday cheers ! Famous last words, Will. :) We're off to the beach today (either Margate/Broadstairs or down towards New Romney) - yet another gloriously sunny day here! Nice to catch up on some summery weather after missing the whole [British] summer by being in America. Jonathan Canterbury |
