I'm sure the MetO would appreciate it. Mike www.dudleyweather.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk isn't there a joke which runs something along the lines of the chief of a tribe of Indians phones the local met office and asks what the weather will be like for winter. Eventually the guy admits he doesn't know but suspects it might be cold. The chief then tells his people that it might be sensible to get more wood in than normal Over the next few weeks the predictions for the following winter grow worse, so the chief spurs his people into greater efforts. Finally one of the elders of the tribe points out that they now have more fire wood available than ever before, so just how bad will the winter be? The chief phones the met office and asks, getting the answer, "It's going to be real bad, have you seen how much wood the Indians have got in their winter stock piles?" -- -- Jim Webster.
