Wow, thanks Pete for sharing those... superb photos!!! How I wish I'd
not changed my mind about visitiing Turkey for this occasion... all I
have are my memories of the fairly cloudy 1999 total eclipse from
Devon - and some scarily dodgy shots of the partial eclipse taken
yesterday from my back garden!

That's a moody shot if ever I saw one. Does that represent the weather
that was around at the time?

Thanks Pete. It was pretty cloudy for half an hour but not as
threatening as it looks. I had to wait until the sun was partially
obscured as I didn't have the right filters. My SLR is bust at the
moment and the old analogue video camera did not like what I threw at
it, oh no!
