A nice suprise on a 'gloom ' day - pic
 

Travelled back to Mid Wales today and almost didn't take my camera - that
bad eh !

Climbing over the Radnor Forest at the highest point everything had turned
white - a very pretty sight
all the fields were wet just trees and fences covered in a pure white frost/
hoar / silver ???...

Fantastic pic, we had a similiar thing here, no frost on the valley
floor ,,but say 300ft higher at 1100ft the trees were bright white.Just
to late to go yesterday with the cam------all gone by morning.I'm so
glad someone managed a pic.....Like something off a film set,

doctored the pictures - I wonder why the rime had not formed on the
grass?

Goes of the grass before it goes off the trees (well it does round
here) possibly wind chill. Also depends on which angle you're looking
from e.g. the shady side when the sun has been on the grass.

Yes, the wonders of Photoshop. Seriously, those were great
pictures. The reason there is no rime on the grass is very likely to
be due to the heat being conducted up from the ground. I have seen
this only *once* before, in my own back garden. It makes you take a
hard look and have a bit of a think. The air temperature has to be
only just below freezing and the ground unfrozen beforehand for this to
happen.
