June 2007: unusual synoptics

Going by the sunshine totals on Philip's site, it looks possible that
parts of E Scotland and NE England could end up duller in June than
January:

Boulmer Jan 91...

High Temps

As other have said, it seems it's the absence of any seriously cold
weather that has been the key- this month it's struggled to drop below
10C at night despite some days only reaching 14-15C. Amazing...

What do you rate this cold spell so far?

Just the tiniest dusting of snow here this morning (mm not cm) but to
be fair it's stayed around and hardly melted. The ground is frozen more
than it ever was last winter, and at least this easterly...

Cold spell ratings out of 10

I'd categorise them pretty much the same for everywhere bar upland
areas and the far SW: Here's how I'd rate cold/snowy snaps I remember
using your scale:

9 or 10- never seen one
8- January 1987
