17.15 this afternoon. Two mock suns, and what I assume to be a parhelic arc,
though I have never seen one in my life!

Temperature not telling the whole story...

....agreed, you also have to add in Solar Radiation. Whether or not the sun
is shining (or burning) on your skin at the specified temperature and
humidity is also relevant.

Subtle changes

Last night 21.00 uncomfortably warm in the garden. Tonight17.45 absolutely
gorgeous (the sun goes behind trees at1800 I might add). Even cool enough to
sit in the sun at 17.30.

Heat wave? What Heatwave?

It was actually a bit chilly watering up tonight in T shirt and shorts, hard
to believe the rest of the world is sweltering out there. A good 10kt
easterly sea breeze at 1700

Compared to the hot spell in July its been too chilly to eat out here the
past two evenings. No complaints though only too grateful were avoiding the
worst of this unbearable spell.
