Illegal Immigration, the Non-Issue of the Week?????????????? by
Expert Humor
The way our politicians rushed to talk about
illegal immigration this week, maybe they thought it
came with a free lunch. They won't do anything about it,
but it will get them some money. The Expert provides
the details at:

(WR) Aberdeen 30th March 2006 - Wet again by
Richard Slessor
Another ghastly day today courtesy of easterly winds. Light rain and
drizzle fell almost continuously from 6:30am to 6:30pm. 8.6mm in total.
Monthly total now 118.2mm. Such a high rain total has, in the Aberdeen
area, been reached in only four other Marches during the past 150 years
:- 1876, 1883, 1909 and 1958. More rain is forecast for tomorrow.
Also another cold day with a max of only 5.9C....

Mean creeping up by
David Mitchell
Last night the mean min was -0.0, now stands at 0.2.
The monthly 10 minute mean is now 3.2, Dec was 3.5, Jan 3.5 and Feb 3.3.
Just what you need at the end of the month, mild days to spoil the figures!
I noted the means on 23rd, a week ago, mean min -1.4, Mean max 5.0, 10 min
mean 1.6 ie they have all risen by 1.6c in a week.

The Boscastle Line by
Graham Easterling
I see with the gradient wind running more or less parallel with the
north Cornwall coast, and a humid unstable airstream, a line of showers
has formed along the convergence line just inland of the north coast,
from near Padstow to Exmoor.
This is such a regular occurence from now until early autumn, I think
it should be called the Boscastle Line, after a ceratin 2004 event.

Darren Prescott
Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Monday. Issued 0535z,
30 Mar 06.
The runs are mixed today, with GFS keen to bring some very unsettled weather
over the UK. The others show a col or a ridge to the west with more settled
weather as a result. As ever, more runs are needed.

Temperature and solar radiation records today by

Good afternoon from a pretty dark Athens.
A couple of minutes after the solar eclipse reached its maximum in
Athens and the online records of temperature and, mainly, solar
radiation are remarkable.

to the fine, warm weather that was predicted for this week. I was
confidently telling everyone last week that it it could reach 15c under
cloudless skiies in the South East by Wednesday this week.
