Gale Warning for Cornwall by
Graham Easterling[_2_]
There is a warning for severe gales for Cornwall & Isles of Scilly
from 09:00-15:00 - gust 70mph along the coast. Can't see it myself,
it looks a Devon eastwards affair, just ahead of the front.
Different overnight tonight when a trough goes through. In fact the
local forecasts www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/sw/st_marys_forecast_wind.html

Evershot WR by
Hugh Newbury
Just been out to try clearing two drain covers in the street. While I
was out the rain rate was 21.18mm/hr @10:34. West Hill is quite steep,
and the water runs off the fields at the top of the hill bringing masses
of topsoil, stones and, at this time of year, twigs and leaves. The
people at the bottom of the hill have a bad time if the drains aren't
kept clear by us further up.
Luckily eased off...

Today's model interpretation (10/11/08) by
Darren Prescott[_2_]
Here is a summary of the NWP output for noon on Friday.
Issued 0458, 10th November 2008
The weekend looks like seeing a transition from unsettled SW'lies to more
settled weather as the Azores High builds towards the UK. All areas are at
risk of rain, but this will become increasingly light and patchy over
southern areas.

Saw this the other day in the Grauniad. Is it new? I like the Guardian
but its science isn't always terribly up-to-date.

And will it work?
