Met Office Data Point ? beta by
Paul Crabtree[_3_]
I was sent an email today and I,m sure there will be others that have
received the same one relating to the new Met Office Data Point.
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/ddc
When I first heard about this I thought that the Met Office was going
to open its data faults so we could all access the data that flows
into the Met Office, on a daily basis and also historically. I was
hoping I could do...

Today's model interpretation (6/01/12) by
Darren Prescott[_4_]
Here is a summary of the NWP output for noon on Tuesday.
Issued 0457, 6/01/12
Zonality will continue as-is for another week or so. There's a strong signal
for a switch to colder conditions from the 15th as the European High
declines to the east. The details of the switch to colder conditions vary
from run to run and from model to model, but it's likely to come via colder
zonality to start...

What weather do you see less of in your area these days? by
George Booth
Persistent thick fog-not for years. Even post Clean Air Act they used to
occur, but not any more. The few days with 0900 fog are now invariably
instances of low cloud.

stevenson screen by
Bob H[_2_]
I am looking to build my own stevenson screen after my original one was
damaged by the recent storms.
I know I could repair it but the plywood is showing signs of rotting and
needs replacing
Anyway, I have been looking for small louvre doors to make a new screen
from and came across these:

Garden snow patch remains, Aberfeldy by
Brian in Aberfeldy
Day 20 with snow cover this winter today (43 same time last year) as
the main snow retreats up the valley. My stubborn cold spot behind the
screen and next to the small Willow and dry stane dyke still has some
cover. The gardens in Aberfeldy, south side of the valley, will still
be white all over as they get no sunshine in winter.
Lovely sunny day today and is most welcome. Looking forward to...

cold ? by
ronaldbutton
Just returned from my shopping expedition and it felt absolutely
b...freezing out there.
The current temp here in suburban Essex is 8.4c,but the dewpoint is just
2,8c,hence the chill factor,in fact though there have been many days this
winter above 7c very few have felt it .
Can't say I've kept an eye on dewpoints generally but does anybody keep
records of these things and have they been...
