Another cloudy high? by
Dave Cornwell[_4_]
Although the weather is settling down and pressure rising next week it
does look like there are embedded fronts in the circulation and a lot of
cloud around. :-(

Today's model interpretation (8/01/12) by
Darren Prescott[_4_]
Here is a summary of the NWP output for noon on Thursday.
Issued 0455, 8/01/12
The outlook is still zonal for the time being, but there are signs of a
change. By the end of the week high pressure will build over the Arctic and
it's likely to move SW'wards towards Scandinavia. This will have the effect
of blocking the current zonal flow, leaving the UK in no-man's-land. It's
likely the...

What weather do you see less of in your area these days? by
Dave Cornwell[_4_]
Without drawing global warming into it, do you have an impression that
certain weather types, if any, in your area have become less frequent.

to a large extent. The lack of snow showers off the North Sea,
particularly any giving significant falls of snow and perhaps violent
thunderstorms with associated downpours and...

Camden Square in the 1920's by
Dave Cornwell[_4_]
I was just looking through some previous stats and noticed that in the
twenties the record daily maximum temperature ocurred eight out of the
ten years in Camden Square. Is that likely - surely there were plenty of
recording stations then?
