ENSO update from NOAA by Dawlish
Most models (19/23) are predicting La Nina conditions developing over the Austral winter, but 40% of the models are going for a fairly quick return to ENSO neutral conditions by the Boreal winter. A typical sharp change in tha ENSO state, followed by a fairly short-lived, no more than moderate La Nina is the current model consensus. It will be very interesting to see how far global temperatures...

Today's model interpretation (8/07/10) by Darren Prescott[_4_]
Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Monday. Issued 0430z, 8/07/10. The models are split today. Every model except GFS shows a NW/SE split with warm conditions in the SE and cooler, wetter conditions in the NW of the UK. GFS, meanwhile, takes a low much further south than the other runs and leads to a wet and increasingly cool outlook in the south, with drier...

If one is to compare this chart with the thousands of similar ones over the years ,I'd have confidently predicted chilly Atlantic...
