I think Jon was right when he said it was a difficult situation to forecast. I can't see the heavy rain on the weather warnings for the S.E overnight anymore, altough I believe still possibly some thundery rain is forecast. Back to the nowcasting, and look out of the window for a while , I guess. Dave

Is there are more reliable forecast for the next month or so? or is long range forecasting dependant on the position of the (overhead?) jetstreams. Does anyone have a link to a site which shows current jetstream positions for UK. TIA. BD

Having seen the news items with some places having three to four times their average June rainfall I wondered if anyone has any lower values for June and year to date than me? June - 34 mm, 64% 1971-2000 mean (approx) Jan-June 2007 - 261 mm, about the average. Dave, Laindon, S.Essex.
