[WR] 0715Z +RA West Moors by
Martin Rowley
.... after a night (from ~0100Z) of moderate rainfall, then a respite
between 05 & 06Z, it has been raining heavily here since ~0620Z.
Surfaces, drainage etc., seem to be coping well, but it's certainly
slowed the traffic down! Rain coming more-or-less straight down so at
least my rain amount when I measure it at 09Z will be a reasonably
true reflection of the 'open site' totals.
Martin.

[WR] S.Essex - rain and sun by
Dave Cornwell
19mm of rain this morning which is a lot for here and will certainly be
welcome in the garden. Much sunnier and more pleasant than I was expecting
this afternoon. I just hope those in SW Midlands manage to cope after the
early warnings but looking at the radar I fear the worst.

[WR] St Albans by
Alan Gardiner
Some exceptionally heavy rainfall from around 11:15 to 12:00 with a maximum
rain rate of 114.3 mm/hr. Between 11:45 and 12:00 there was 12.7mm recorded
on my Davis VP gauge which is almost certainly substantially less than the
volume that a standard gauge would have recorded. The road and grass verge
outside formed a mini river at that time.
Total rainfall today 28.7mm.

Rain ? by
Ron Button
Here in southwest Essex we had a nice drop of rain ( 4mm) around dawn ,but
since 0600 it's been bone dry ,albeit as a dark as a November
morning.Looking at the latest radar ,there appears to be a deluge occuring
just to the southwest of London ,which doesn't seem to be going anywhere..
Any opinions as to whether it might spread northeast again ,or am I back to
watering all my garden pots yet...

Google. by
Weatherlawyer
I wonder if they pull there computers when there is a bit of a storm.
I did yesterday and pulled the plugs out of the anti-spike. Nothing
worth worrying about though. Some heavy rain and that was it.
Google seemed to think otherwise.
Or perhaps they thought we were all switching off for the duration and
took the opportunity to dust out their hard drives?

Sunshine in Farnborough (?) by
Roger Smith
See
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/south_farnborough_latest_weather.html
If you had lost all other senses, or lived abroad, you might believe it.
These reports from Farnborough rarely have any semblance to the truth, so
why on earth give them?
