Copley ice rink! by
Ken Cook
Hi, All,
Drizzle now freezing on all surfaces apart from gritted roads. Interesting
that although -0.5C in Barnard Castle there was no ice when I visited
grandchildren but return to Copley in thick freezing fog and -1.5C and it's

overcast and high humidity. This might answer Graham's (Weston Coyney)
point.

white over. Not very heavy at all, i think we'll miss out on the heavy
stuff, the band of snow seems to have stayed further east than I think
was anticipated.
Temp -0.2C.

[WR] Northampton 9/2/12 by

Started snowing in these part just after 4pm. By 5 o'clock it had turned to

a sheet of ice. Very nasty. By 6pm, it had turned back to snow, and right
now there is a fresh 2 inches of the ruddy stuff over everything. At least
it's now covered up all the ice and frozen slush, so walking about is a bit
easier. And the...

If anyone wants to know where the snow is [WR] by
Tom2131
We've got it.
It's been snowing for the past 2 hours with a temp of -0.8C. Not
particularly heavy, but continuous. It's very picturesque out there
and is adding nicely to that which has been lying around, going
nowhere fast, since last Saturday night.

Max. -0.8C in sunny skies.
Now at 1700 it is more cloudy with temperature tumbling away at -3.1C.
DP -5.1C.
Bar 1040.7 hPa steady. Naff all wind from the ENE.
All surfaces bone dry, frozen solid and snow-free.
Going to be interesting on Friday close to the warm front wave. Snow or
freezing rain, it just depends. Key difference from last weekend is that
there is no driving low near Iceland...
