Any Essex and North London snow reported yet? by
Lawrence13
I notice on the radar Ron, Dave and George should be seeing some snow
pretty soon. Looking at the 1900hrs radar a heavy mean green moderate
blob heading for London and I don't the ex mother-in-law.

Today's model interpretation (10/02/12) by
Darren Prescott[_4_]
Here is a summary of the NWP output for noon on Tuesday.
Issued 0500, 10/02/12
The middle of the week will see WNW'lies giving way to westerlies as a ridge
declines to the west. Northern areas of the UK are likely to see plenty of
cloud and rain blowing in from the Atlantic, but further south it'll be
drier. Temperatures will be close to average, although by the end of the
week there are...

Bracknell snow by
Graham P Davis
4cm on top of my wheelie bins at 0630 but generally about 1cm on the
paths. Generally thawing very slowly on the paths but a slight
crunchiness in a few places suggesting a bit of freezing going on also.
It was cloudy but that's moved away and the sun's now out so freezing
might increase.

Warning area extended by
Ian Waddell
Seems from the updated Met Office warning, and radar that the snow is
now set to affect a much larger area of England, with the eastern
extent further east than previously forecast. Snowing steadily in
Wokingham and beginning to settle on hard surfaces. I think we have a
good few hours left to come, looking at the radar. Tomorrow morning
will be interesting.

[WR] Milton Keynes by
Liam Steele[_2_]
There's been light snow for the past hour now, which has given
everything a nice new coating (last Saturday's snow had all but gone by
Monday). Not expecting a great deal to fall, but it looks pretty!
As an aside, I had to cycle back from uni in the snow, and it's
surprising how much it hurts your face!

Unexpected light snow by

(Southampton)
Very light but settling on car roofs.
Have to admit I'm surprised, I thought the precipitation was staying
very much further north and west of here today, with nothing here
until later in the weekend.

Forecast: Atlantic regime at T+240. by
Dawlish
The consistency shown by the ECM and the fact that the gfs is a cold
outlier in the ensembles makes me confident that the colder weather
will be at an end, both for Europe and for the UK.
**at T240, on 18th February, the anticyclonic and cold conditions
presently affecting the UK will have given way to an airstream from
the Atlantic. Wind directions over most of the UK will be between
south-west...

Snow in Portsmouth by
Togless
Our first snow of the winter here - very light, just enough for a thin layer
on the grass. Hoping it will stay long enough to give me a picturesque
cycle ride to work (it doesn't look like there's enough coming this way to
force me to get the bus in the morning).

Snow! by
Dave Cornwell[_4_]
Well I saw it first! Having been praising them of late not one of UKMO's
best forecasts! Unfortunately although it snowed all evening it has been
melting and even the lying snow has shrunk despite the temp being O.2C
and Dp -0.1C. Heavier your way as I drove by at 10 pm - about 3 cm at
Waltham Abbey.
