Laura Tobin . . . by
Graham P Davis
.. . . showed a table of snow depths that she said were from Met Office
stations this morning where the top depth was 16cm from Church Fenton.
She then said it was probably due to drifting. Nice of her to criticise
her colleagues on breakfast TV.

Just topped 10C for the 1st time since 27th January.
Light rain but not particularly murky, in fact quite bright at times.
Visibility 5 - 10 miles at sea level, very different approz 75m as
the cloud base is about that height. The castle on the Mount keeps

Jackdaws think it's Spring! by
Eskimo Will
Our resident jackdaws are bringing nesting material up to the chimneys in
the sleet and drizzle :-)
They make a wonderful "cawing" sound down the unused chimneys. One year
though I did use a particular fireplace and you could then hear them
coughing ... only kidding I made sure they weren't nesting before lighting
the fire.

Holmbury Hill (Surrey) snow report by
Adam Lea[_3_]
About an inch of new snow on top of existing accumulation, bringing the
total accumulation up to about four inches. Looked very beautiful with
the snow on the tree branches as well. Won't be there until Monday
morning, which is when it is supposed to get milder, so today may be the
last I see of the snow for a while.

Snow summary: 9th/10th February 2012 .. West Moors / East Dorset by
Martin Rowley[_4_]
.... Snow began (light/small flakes/intermittent) ~ 09/2040Z, no impact:
by 2130Z, small patches on grass.
Around 09/2220Z, snow became continuous, and quickly achieved a cover,
with short bursts moderate (but my observing not continuous by this time!).
Snow had ceased by 10/02Z, at which time I did a quick estimate visually
using pre-planted snow sticks of complete cover 2 to 4 cm.
