Today's model interpretation (18/03/05) by
Darren Prescott
Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon on Tuesday. Issued
0609z, 18/03/05.
The models show low pressure controlling our weather for the forseeable
future, with winds remaining from a southerly quarter for a week at least.
There'll be a fair bit of rain as fronts cross the UK, as usual heaviest in
the north and west.

First +20C of spring by
Yannis
Good afternoon everyone.
As one may see, the Mediterranean is under strong anticyclonic influence
which has led temperatures to rise considerably, especially over continental
areas (the isles have started reporting lower temperature maxima than
continental sites do). My first temperature over +20C today here, in SE
Athens: +20.6C at 1310 EET with not a single sign of cloud in the sky. It is...

Miniture tornado by
Joe Egginton
Hello All,
I was reading 'The observer's book of weather' by Reginald M. Lester,
published 1955, and I was surprised to see him write that in Britain we
can suffer from miniature tornadoes.
I thought the term mini tornado was a modern invention by the press.
Just shows nothing is new under the sun.
