Well the pattern repeats. We have been on the edge of mild/cold air for a while now and now again we are back into the deeper cold air. 0930 Min -3.2C. Currently -2.1C with a light easterly wind. 8/8 SC cloud cover all night. Ground frozen but not as rock hard as recently. Looks like a lot of ice higher up with a thin snow cover.

ECM 12z is looking decidedly zonal without the northerly next weekend that has been suggested. However, there is a different, colder, northerly solution presented by the gfs. Much more of a spread on the ensembles than there has been for a few days. Little agreement, or consistency after the 18th.
