Fractured Ice shelf in Greenland by Dave Ludlow
For anyone who missed this story, the largest ice shelf in the Arctic (the Ward Hunt Ice Shelf) has fractured, releasing all the water from the freshwater lake it dammed. Fortunately for us, it's far away in NW Greenland. Otherwise, perhaps the release of fresh water over the last three years would have had adverse implications for the North Atlantic...

The Bill Giles Gaff part2*** by Pre-38
Saturday 20 September to Friday 26 September "This looks like a week when the rains will finally get to the far southeast of the country as the ridge of high pressure slips away to allow low pressure to move in and dominate the weather" http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/30day.shtml The Bill Giles Outlook: Has he got it wrong again? I think perhaps yes he has. How unsurprising. Send your...

(WR) Tilehurst by Bernard Burton
Cold front also went through here at Wokingham at 1450 GMT. Really spectacular cloudscape, with a very sharp dividing line between the SW'lies and NW'lies evident in the lower clouds. Temperature dropped from around 20C to 12C in 15 mins. It seems a long time since we had such an active cold front here. -- Bernard Burton Wokingham, Berkshire, UK.

Noticable Arival of Autumn by Simon S
As the sun crossed to the south of the equator today a cold front brought the first proper rain since July. It was very warm this morning but as the season change the front cleared south and temperature have dropped significantly. The continent will be cooling off now so the only chance of seeing warm air again this year would be a southerly.

impressive cloud formation by nguk..
Wind is picking up and what looks to be a lower based cloud ahead of very black skies, and also the black clouds at the back seem to be going different directions. Perhaps this is the cold air overriding the warm air? Very heavy rain looks to be affecting this region soon! se england
