Deep Snow - Wolverhampton by
Joe Egginton[_3_]
Ventured outside at 2000z, 5 inches of snow. Though by the looks of
Raintoday RADAR there's freezing rain about 10 miles to my West.
At least we've had some snow this winter. :-)

Very heavy snow! by
Graham
Very heavy snow in the last hour, huge flakes awesome snowstorm, not seen
snow like this for a long time:)
Just waked down to the main A520 and there's little traffic and a lot of
snow, not sure gritters have been anywhere near.
One car struggled to get up our steep hill and gave up!
Strange to walk in the snow in almost total silence on such a normally busy
road.
You can see the shadows of...

Wembury misery by
Len Wood
This is the pits. Rained steadily here since 1100GMT . 7.3 mm to
1800GMT and still going.
Not sure so much was forecast.
Recent hard frosts have ruined the flowers in my garden.
Camellias, rhododendrons, daffs, primulas and even the helebores.
Ruined.
Only the snowdrops seem unaffected.
Temperature is nearing 9C now which is good.

I looked out of the window at about 17:30 and could see that flat
surfaces such as the road and paths had a thin covering of snow. No
doubt there was also snow on the grass, but since I was relying on the
street lighting I couldn't see it. It must have started snowing sometime
around 17:00.

Snow started at 1300z, mostly light, 1/2 inch lying, temps gone down
from a high of -1c at 1200z to -2c since snow as been falling. Quite a
strong breeze, when I popped to the local shops at 1245z making it feel
very cold.

[OBS] Romsey - Saturday 4th February 2012 by
Nigel Paice[_3_]
Onset of sleet at 1630Z has become continuous but still
slight, finely balanced with 50% rain and 50% snow (just
rain lower down in the town centre). Hard surfaces damp.
Of much more significance so far today was the low air
min temp of -8.4C, our coldest night since 2 Jan 1997,
over 15 years ago.
