A real suckers gap? by
Scott W
looking at the models it looks like any warming will be brief before a
reload of the cold and a re-establishment of a Scandinavian high after
Wednesday? Is this a proper suckers' gap situation?

Today's model interpretation (5/02/12) by
Darren Prescott[_4_]
Here is a summary of the NWP output for noon on Thursday.
Issued 0459, 5/02/12
The end of the working week will see a great deal of settled, quiet
conditions with high pressure to the east. Both ECM and GFS show the high
drifting westwards for the weekend, but MetO is less keen. Widespread frosts
are likely for England and Wales, as well as parts of Scotland as a result,
with more in the way...

snow but no gritters by
JT
to use the term WTF is going on. It has been snowing now for three hours.
Tis only a few cms, but i Have just walked up for a takeout, bloody chaos,
no salting. Even the bus route is not gritted. We knew this would happen,
why couldn't Solihull MBC get the gritters out.
Rant over
Nice take out
Now -1.0C and still snowing

The Snow finally reaches the east coast of Suffolk by
Steve_H[_2_]
It's got here at last, fine snow at the moment but heavy and laying on
all surfaces. I wish I could stay awake to watch it's progress through
the night but I will have to wait until the morning!

Very heavy snow! by
Graham
Where are YOU Graham?
Here in Sunderland, near the coast in northeast England, we've had mostly
sleety rain, which has now frozen. The sky is now clear and instead of
snow,
we have ice, ice, baby! (Sorry... dreadful pun!).
I was really looking forward to going out today and taking some snow
photographs, but it just became cold, wet and miserable.
