Tonight's Leonid Meteor Shower by

Very clear night here but even with the light pollution managed to see
one really bright one and a fainter one in the space of about 10 mins
looking, just S.E roughly of Jupiter. I can remember standing out at
midnight in the freezing cold in bygone years - no such problem tonight.

Early cloud broke temporarily to allow some sunshine mid-morning, but it was
cloudy again by midday and the afternoon was overcast and grey. Light S to
SW wind. Temperature rose during the morning after a cold start - but then
remained stable.

A sunny, grand sort of day with light winds and predominantly
blue-skies. Been plenty of these this November to offset the 5 sunless
days so far this month.
A max of 14.0°C after a cool start with a min of 5.6°C. This was the
lowest min since the 7th.
Just past mid-month and the average temps so far (1st - 17th):
Min = 9.0°C
Max = 13.8°C

RMK Overcast yesterday after 15z and dry. Cloud clearance in night,

rapid dispersal of the fog. Vis 1500m at 0910z.

Max. 10C. So a bit warmer and close to normal.

The drought order has now been in place in parts of East Anglia now for 5
months. Despite earlier assurances that it would not affect household
supplies, Anglian Water are now getting worried about the level of water in
some of their reservoirs. This is due to the continued lack of any
appreciable rainfall since February. They are planning to extract extra
