Wet by

A throughly dull and wet day. We had a dry but dull spell between 10am
and 2.15pm, otherwise rain.
I think it's been about 4 weeks since we had whole rainy day.

BRACKNELL (TAWFIELD)
0900 SSE F4 20km -RA RE-RASN 7/ST 8/SC T017D013
RMK: a short, very wishy-washy 'sleet' phase about 30-40 mins ago, but

from last night settled.
other data: The PPN recorded from rain (and a little sleet - as above)
that has been falling since ~0530Z ]=

[WR] Snow on the Yorkshire Wolds by
Rob Overfield
Its doing a good impression of a proper snow event up here. In a S wind of
about 15-20 knots the snow is drifting and could be a problem up here before
the milder air pushes through. It was a bit of a run getting this mornings
pic...!

River overflows in western Greece by
Yannis
The continuous rainfalls have given more copious amounts of rainfalls in
western Greece during the last couple of days -and much more is yet to come
there. December will end up with more than 300 mm in low lying areas of NW
Greece.

Bracknell(Tawfield): December temperatures by
Martin Rowley
I note some papers are claiming that this December is the coldest such
month for about 10 years. That may be so for some, but for us, the
record is more modest.
Current anomaly (24hr data) for temperature this station for this month
is -1.2C; this may in fact ease back very slightly by month's end.
With this anomaly, this December is only the coldest such-named month
since December 2001...

What do you rate 2005 by
nguk
Personally i rate 2005 as a 9/10

with one that developed in 1hr giving an awsome lightning display.

New year always brings drab weather by
nick150971@yahoo.co.uk
Seems a repeating pattern is that the new year always brings drab
weather, and that any "exciting" winter weather will occur in either
December or April(!)
Interesting that the second week of January has only been anything
close to "exciting" since 1987 in 1997 and 2003, and since 1992, mid
January has only been anything close to seasonal in 2001 (no snow, but
cold).
Should we be thinking "oh...

[WR] Now drizzle by
David Mitchell
After just about 5 hours of snow it's turned back to drizzle in the past few
minutes.
All in all not too bad, this frontal snow is far easier to cope with than
the heavy showers from a Northerly.
Temp now 0.2C.

OT Quicktime by
Keith (Southend)
While rebuilding on my programmes onto the SATA disc I then had a
problem with quicktime, as use this for the Cheshire College at
animations. Firefox directs you to the Apple site and you have to
download iTunes as well !!. However, this and a previous copy of the
download came up with 'download again as there is a currupt file'. Still
no luck so I grabbed an old disc were I had saved...
