Default [WR] Otter Valley, Devon - Summer Continues

A warm & sunny, if rather hazy day.

Feeling still very much like summer with strong sunshine and a max today of
23.1°C after another cool start with min of just 8.4°C.

Been out 'n' about in the sunshine for the last few days and the ol' suntan
is well and truly topped up after fading for a while in late August.

The day length and maximum sun elevation are really starting to decrease
quickly now, with around 3.5 minutes being lost every day. The sun's highest
elevation today for this location was 47° but by the Equinox this will have
decreased to just under 40°, and by the 1st of October the sun will rise to
a max of only 36° above the horizon.

Having spent quite a few Autumns in Lisbon, the difference of being 12°
further south really makes itself felt. At the Autumnal Equinox the sun
still rises to a healthy 52° elevation, giving the feel that summer is still
in full swing and equivalent to the height of the sun here in mid-August.

A calm, pleasantly warm evening.

(19:45), 16.8°C, RH 70%, DP 11.2°C, 1020 hPa (S), Wind calm.

Default [WR] Otter Valley, Devon - Summer Continues

Yesterday felt like the hottest and most uncomfortable day of the summer in
Exeter, it felt stifling but temperatures were not that high really.
Strange.

It was great to get home to pleasant cooler Dartmoor where the max. was a
more tolerable 18C in that sun (still above normal for the time of year)!
