For perhaps the first time since May we have a situation over the past few
days where the SE of England is actually getting more weather than places north and west. Tomasz Schafernaker seemed very concerned about it in his 1300 forecast and looked vexed when he mentioned Northern Ireland had wall to wall sun. |

They've had rain for several *days* now, whilst summer here ended about six weeks ago. What has made me laugh are the presenters on 'Breakfast' suddenly moaning about the weather and wondering where summer has gone, just because it's now wet in their little corner of the country.... -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

Hi, David, My sister lives in Slough and No2 son in Wanstead, I visit a lot so I know the SE reasonably well - my sympathy is with you (;0) Only joking, love it really, loads to do down there. Meanwhile the late Copley summer continues - gorgeous sunny evening, light NE'ly, 7hr sun so far today, high 17C with yet more sunbathing in between grass cutting and met gear maintenance. Certainly ain't autumn here but when it comes, it's normally our best season as the nearby North Sea is at its warmest then. Best wishes, Ken Copley, Teesdale, far from the madding crowd. |

Well living in SE London it can safely be said that I'm well and truly in the SE and I have to say it's not that bad , not that bad at all. Dry and overcast as I type. |

Not very often in the northeast (Sunderland) that we get to gloat on the
weather front. But actually, it's been very pleasant indeed these last few days with lots of warm sunshine falling upon us from blue skies. Today, the sunshine has continued and the first thing I did after coming home from work was to put the chairs out in the garden to soak up the rest of the evening sunshine. I believe that more of the same is coming our way tomorrow... yipee! David Allan "David Haggas" wrote in message ... Much the same in my part of Surrey. Yes, it was fairly wet on Wednesday afternoon and overnight, but not unusually so (judging by the size of the puddles this morning - I don't have a rain gauge). We had some drizzle this morning, but it's been dry though very overcast this afternoon. -- John Hall "I don't even butter my bread; I consider that cooking." Katherine Cebrian |

Yesterday we actually had daylight hours without wind (very rare since June) but today quite a stiff ENE set in. Hopefully better tomorrow as high pressure tries to grind its way in from the west again. The NW/SE split returns in favour of the SE on Saturday so should cheer up the TV forecasters! David |
