Very clear skies from sunrise until sunset allowed for 11.03 hours of
sunshine, this is an amazing 97% of the total possible. Looking at the data logger, it showed that the recorder turned on at 06:58 (sunrise is at 06:43) and turned off at 18:01 (sunset at 18:08). A max temp today of 7.9°C after an overnight minimum of -2.9°C. A brisk and cold NE kept going all day giving a significant wind-chill, but the heat of the sun was some compensation. Day length is increasing by around 4 minutes a day now, just about as big a daily increase as possible. This is reflected in the times the sunshine recorder has been switching on and the crystal clear early morning skies has helped track these time changes. March 2010 Time sunshine recorder turned on 1st 07:15 2nd 07:12 5th 07:06 6th 07:04 7th 07:01 8th 06:58 Somebody in the village has a pond full of frogs and frogspawn. Still life-less in my pond at the moment. (19:00), 3.3°C, RH 61%, DP -3.5°C, 1027 hPa (F), Wind 7 mph N. _____________________ Nick Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
