Although yesterday 2nd was a grotty day with murky conditions and at times
foggy with visibility below 200 metres, the steady rain was just perfect for
the garden, never too heavy, just steady and giving just under 6mm by
midnight. I would have like to have seen a good storm of course, but this
was far better for the garden which is now refreshed and looking simply
great. Broad beans are the best I have ever grown they are now 4 feet high
and not a blackfly in sight. Brussels again the best I have ever grown with
strong growing plants. Raspberries are still green but very plentiful and
all othetr veg. are thriving, peas, leeks, kale, runners, courgettes, french
beans, lettuce and cucumbers. Sorry for the gardening stuff but this is all
down to the favourable weather I'm sure during the Spring and last winter.

Today is fresher, broken cumulus cloud, sun coming out, F3 W-SW wind
bringing in sparkling clean Atlantic air, temp. 16.2C and DP 12.2C at 0900.
Simply perfect (for me)!

I wish it would hurry up and get here! Yesterday I opened the doors and
windows at 0530 BST and by 0700 the temperature in my lounge had dropped to
a pleasant 20C (from 24C). More breeze today and it's dull but by 0900 the
temperature had got no lower than 23C (again from 24C). Humidity 65%. Yeugh!

Whilst I'm sure you are right Will to thank the Spring and winter weather
for your great floral bonanza ,I thought the punters out there might be
interested in the following quote from Luke Howards 'Climate of London'
'The clear hot sunshine of the greatest part of this period (June 1818) had
the effect of establishing the summer in our climate in a manner to which we
have long been unaccustomed.The deeper green of the foliage and the richer
colour of many flowers

Dewpoint's still 17C here Will, in fact Penzance heliport's reporting
a dewpoint of 18C. Force 4 SW breeze taking the edge off the
humidity. Temperature currently just over 20C (11:15). Last nights
minimum thankfully lower at 15.0C. Mainly clear skies over the sea,
small/medium cumulus readily form over the land.

that much (Exeter currently 14C v 16C this time yesterday). I suspect the
marked changed will come post cold front on Sunday which introduces
theta-w's of around 10-12 more generally compared to the current values of
around 14-16.

With the dewpoint being very close to the SST lately, the sea has been
steaming at times, very evident over beaches, but right across the bay
the visibility has been poor at the lowest levels. The bottom photo
at www.cornwallcam.co.uk/ shows it up rather well. Distinct line
(around 50') above which the visibility improves
