Good sunny periods this morning, sunny spells this afternoon. This,
combined with light winds and very good visibilty made it a lovely day. Some pictures at www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/recent.html Max 15.1C Last nights min 9.6C An interesting day despite the quiet conditions. Scilly very clear from Tregonebris (which is 35 miles away on the road from Penzance to Land's End) so visibility in the 40-50 mile range. However a moist layer meant there was some misty low cloud on the top of west facing cliffs. The recent quiet spell has seen both winds and the moderate swell (generally in the 3-6' range) from a SW direction. These are very constructive conditions for NW facing Sennen, where there is more sand now than at any time since the big storm in March. Good to see that the beach has returned to normal. The storm was so bad the sand got dumped well be low the low tide mark, so it was not easily brought back up by any swell in a remotely normal range. Graham Penzance |
