Default Davis weather stations - price changes

Hope no-one will object to a brief announcement:

We've received notification that the UK trade prices of Davis stations
is to rise by around 20% on average as from 1st Dec 2008. The
background is the plummeting sterling/dollar exchange rate which means
that Davis trade purchases are now costing anything up to 40% more
than was the case earlier this year, plus the fact that Davis list
prices have not changed significantly in over 7 years now.

There will likely be some existing dealer stock around at current
prices for a few weeks yet and so if anyone was debating whether to
take the plunge on a new station purchase, it might be in your
interest to make a decision sooner rather than later.

Thanks for letting us know John. What struck me when I looked at this,
this evening, was the deadly silent response to this thread, since you
originally posted at 09:50 ! Maybe the grim reality of the recession and
credit crunch has finally affected the weather grin
I've been pondering with upgrading from the WMII to the Vantage Pro, but
I guess the crunch will come when my trusty WMII bites the dust, been
running now since 1999, let's hope I'm not tempting fate :-0

Keep the good work up John.

Regards

You've got years yet, Keith - my WMII was installed in Feb 1993 and is
still going strong! It's only a backup system now, but it's still
working well.
