I was out at Sennen Wednesday when the lifeboat returned from a shout.
The lifeboat was launched at 11:44 to assist a Newlyn fishing boat
with engine failure 8 miles WSW of The Longships, returned to Sennen
at 1650. Fine weather but a 2 - 3 metre swell.

The last 3 days have been 'summer-like' here with virtually unbroken
sunshine since Tuesday.

Recorded 10.1 hours of sunshine today which is 92% of the theoretical
maximum. Just a misty start delayed things a little. Today has been the
sunniest day since the 26th Sept and brings the amount of sunshine for the
month so far to 55 hours. 29 hours of which have happened in the last 3
days.

A max of 17.7°C this afternoon making it the warmest day of the month to
date, after an overnight low of 11.1°C. Average min & max temps so far
(1st - 10th) are 8.0°C & 15.7°C, mean 11.9°C.
