August almost a record +0.51C by
Dawlish
Quite amazing how the globe is not cooling. August only 0.01C behind
the super El Nino August of 1998 with La Nina conditions across the
central Pacific.

Unignorable. Forecast of warm and generally settled weather.Southerlies at T240 on 3rd Sept. by
Dawlish

by cross-model agreement and consistency from both the gfs and the ECM
today:
** At T240, on 3rd Sept, the UK will be bathed in a warm airstream,
with a continental feed. Higher pressure will be over, or to the east
of the UK and lower pressure will be kept out in the Atlantic, or
towards Iceland, by the bocking high. This...

West Cornwall unusual swell - Norman? by
Graham Easterling[_3_]
Exceptionally long wavelength swell today. Often only 1 wave in view
at a time http://www.sennen-cove.com/todaysurf.htm. Maybe originating
from an old hurricane.
Magic seaweed showed a dominant swell of up to 20secs recently
http://magicseaweed.com/Sennen-Surf-Report/4/multiSwell/uk/#forecastTable
, but it's seemed even longer. Any comments Norman?
A feed of slightly warmer air from the south...

When is autumn coming? by
Len Wood
So much talk on this ng about how one feels it is autumn or summer.
Should we not be tied down to figures? This is afterall a science ng.
There is no room for feelings.
Since when did the weather care about us?

Penzance - Beautiful skyscape. by
Graham Easterling[_3_]
The generally high level cloud which made the sunshine hazy today,
together with a little altocumulus recently, is now tending to decay.
However, cleaner air has arrived, giving a big improvement in
visibility, and a stunning sky.

[WR] Otter Valley, Devon - Summer Continues by
Nick Gardner
A warm & sunny, if rather hazy day.
Feeling still very much like summer with strong sunshine and a max today of
23.1°C after another cool start with min of just 8.4°C.
Been out 'n' about in the sunshine for the last few days and the ol' suntan
is well and truly topped up after fading for a while in late August.
The day length and maximum sun elevation are really starting to decrease
quickly...
