FUGAWI GPS Software supports live WXport weather overlay by
Mark
FUGAWI GPS Software can now be used to view real-time, animated
weather, presented directly on any map or chart.
All that is required is a copy of FUGAWI GPS Software running on a PC,
an Internet connection, and a subscription to the WeatherPort (WXPORT)
service.
The WXPORT Internet service is available from WeatherGlobe
Technologies of Toledo, Ohio (www.wxport.com). Weather coverage...

Isabel Track and 1938 Hurricane Track by
Mic Healey
I have been looking at Isabel's track and previous storms that
kai-boshed (sp?) New England...
Bob 1991, Gloria 1985, Carol 1954 - don't seem to have have the
correct profile or history. Sure looks a lot like the devasting Great
Hurricane of 1938 track to me. Very very scary.

No Weather in the West by
WhatShe Mean
With global warming and increasing ocean temperatures, all the moisture
and inclement weather change will be back East while the West is calm
and drought plagued.
In the future,it is possible that the East will have to send us its
water as it does its population.

Cli-Mate Update Available by
Earl F. Parrish
At long last, there is an update of Cli-Mate from 1.6.2 to 2.0.2.
If you registered the older version, the registration still works
with the new version. You may have to delve into the Registry to
find the code.

The bigger threat by
E386tyz
I think it is important for people to realize that the main threat from
tropical systems is not the wind (except right near the coast) but the water.
By far the majority of deaths as a result of TS's are the reuslt of drowning --
not being hit by debris etc. And it's not just a question of storm surge near
the coast. In October 1954 Hurricane Hazel (which had about the same intensity
as Isabel...

NC - Isabel by
Jacob Bradshaw
How far out do the hurricane force winds reach from the center of the eye
outward? I live in Southeastern, NC (in Duplin County). I was reading this
tracking map and it seems as if we could be spared of the hurricane force
winds but I was wondering if any of you guys knew. They say it could hit
around Cape Haterras. I live around 140 miles southwest of Cape Hatteras.
I am scared beyond belief....

Tropical vs. Global by
V-Man
Question: Why is the NHC relying more on earlier global models than the
later 14 00Z tropical models for their Isabel 5 day forecasts.
Is it because most hurricanes in this part of the world eventually track
more right than the forecasts predict???

Anniversary of Hurricane Camille by
Wayne Roop
I was stationed at Kessler A.F.B., Biloxi, MS. I spent the night in a
tech school building. It was cinder block two story with no windows except
in the first floor doors. The south-facing wall on the 2nd floor had double
pushbar doors where large heavy equipment was brought in. Both doors had
been opened and towels(?) held around the doors while forced shut. The rain
still came through. Within a...

South Florida Safe From Isabel? by
Dean S. Lautermilch© ²ºº³
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

So as of Sunday morning all the forecast tracks I am seeing send
Isabel almost due north towards New England. There was some talk that
a ridge was going to form and send the storm towards Florida. Has
that threat past?

Isabel's interesting eye by
Mike1
The eye appears to be contracting as we approach 1am EST Sunday night,
and looks like it will track w-wnw directly over a 25N/70W plot-point.
The entire storm is over 84F water now.
